I have seen her being interviewed last night at the TFC and I thought that being 16 and a 3rd Place Winner of Ford Supermodel is really an achievement. It is the first time for the last 25 years that a model with an Asian descent caught the attention of Ford Agency. I think she is a Filipino version of Kate Moss.
She is going to work in New York on a $100k contract for one year.

i know her personally. i was her publicist before. she’s flying to NY sometime this month. she’s very much filipina and very young at heart, innocent little girl. she’s bubbly also. and very professional. she’s dubbed as the asian kate moss. hehe!!! but no vices. haha!!!
Did her plane to NY got diverted somewhere else? There was no Charo sighting at the NY shows last month. In fact, none of the top 3 finishers showed up…or if they did, they sure were eclipsed by Chanel Iman (and how is that for a name huh?), the US entry to Ford contest who made it to the top 5. I was hoping Charo would show up in the European shows but that’s over and still no Charo sighting. But was there a Chanel Iman sighting? You betcha!!

She better move faster than her normal because a model’s shelf life is short, too short. Winning 3rd place at Ford Models’ modelling contest doesn’t guarantee her success. It will open doors for her but in the end, she has to want it enough. You go Charo!!

Charo is featured in a 7 page editorial in the March 07 issue of Marie Claire with Sandra Oh on the cover. She looks truly amazing and a breath of fresh air from the usual wan looking white girls. Bravo Charo and Bravo Ford!!
