I am on a mission to achieve perfect make up! My photos on the last performance showed some shocking revelation – my makeup needs to improve a lot ! As in a lot !!!!
I want to achieve something that is fabulous, classy and maybe the outrageous types. And not like I am going to an annual provincial/village beauty contest!
Or worse to look like a corpse with a bad makeup!
So I need practice, practice and practice.
I am just so jealous with the girls – as they have the chance to do their make up everyday (for those who wear make up everyday), and achieve perfection.
I have seen K before she transformed to that look above. Isn’t she fabulous! I was also blessed to be at the backstage when she was doing her makeup and she was very generous in giving tips and showed me how to do the eyebrows. She showed me a special wax that is available from theatre make up shops. This wax is a must if you want to achieve that glam look by tacking in your brows and painting over it. And then you can draw fake fabulous eyebrows higher to achieve that startling effect! This is really over the top drag ensemble is also used by a lot of performers – like the Kabuki or geisha actors.
Obviously there is so much to learn – and a good way to start is to choose the appropriate foundation for stage purposes!

Achieving perfection in make-up is really an art. We work with many different make-up stylists in our studio and I see that the good ones are the ones who are super patient, painstakingly attentive to details, unafraid to experiment and always practicing and honing their craft.
Kaya galingan mo, Jase! Practice ka lang to death and you’ll get better at it! ;p
