“CC” – OUR CAT OF PERPETUAL PROTECTION AND SPIRITUAL GUIDE

After all the haste and noise of the past months,  we had a long week of peaceful rest.

Equilibrium of mind, body and spirit is what I want and is now back.  

During those busy busy days and nights (preparation to the Mardi Gras and all in betweens is not that easy!), there is one constant companion who just sat around the corner - observing,  sometimes smirking, staring and simply bored – with all the activities we had at home.  And I just wonder what she was thinking during those times.

One afternoon while I was putting on some final glitters in one of the costumes, I caught her sitting on a black box looking at me in her usual CC ways.  The afternoon sunlight hitting the crystals on the window - was reflecting rainbow colors on her face.  Like the rainbow flag.   She seemed to be very peaceful and was a bit annoyed when I started taking photos of her.  But she loves a little bit of attention every now and then – just like us!

Cats……. Cats….. and those cats eyes!

I remembered reading an article about cats being the favorite pets of the the ancient Egyptians.    In the tombs of the pharaohs,  skeletons of these pet cats are also buried.  Belief is that the cats are the guides of the the soul to the next life.

In our present life -  the cats who grow and live with us develop a certain bond or connection – (particularly with CC anyway!).  She must be very unique because she was trained by a German shepherd.   And so she acts like a dog too.   She knows when we are happy, sick and lonely.  And she is always there, silently to share all these with us. 

More than a friend, a family or a companion!
