AREN’T U GLAD YOU ARE PINOY?

I sweetly recall Christmas in the Philippines!  It is one thing that differentiates us from the rest of the world.   Yes, we don’t have too much to brag about in terms of food, decorations, traditions and style – for basically the Filipino taste and style - is something that you love because you grow up with it, and that it is embedded in your skin.  It is not something that the rest of the world would love and appreciate.  Like the language, it is a uniquely Filipino experience that is difficult if not impossible to share and experience to a foreigner.

For it is a unique blend of national consciousness – celebrating life itself, recollecting a year of labor, suffering and joy;  gathering hopes for a new beginning;  sharing bounties with your friends and families;  and feeling and expressing the most important aspect of all LOVE.

I love Tagalog; so much and you know what Jase, I miss the way Filipinos speak. They have this accent which is so beautiful to my ears. And Christmas in the Philippines was definitely better than the ones spent in Malaysia. Everything was so different, the decorations, the hype and most important of all, the joy surrounding the people. And wonderful, wonderful food! Talaga!

I think Christmas is different for everyone. That’s what makes it so special. Everyone has their own traditions that starts when they’re very young and ends up being shared with friends and loved ones as they get older. I really hope all your Christmas dreams come true this year!
