LUMO - LOBO
6 05 2008With my monthly subscription to TFC of around AUD $35/month (and growing!), plus of course the initial installation costs, I should be expecting a lot of quality shows and tele-movies from the Philippines. But all I am getting are all these wasteful nonsensical shows, sad to say!
All these game shows like - Wah-wah-Weeee!!! and Game Ka na Bah (with pathetic Edu Manzano’s victory dance, etc), Big Brother Pinoy Editions (and now with teen edition), etc., are all waste of time!!!
Yes, they are quite enjoyable (entertaining when you are a little bit depressed or homesick) but they become annoying and playing like an old record over and over again. I am getting sick of these howling, shreiking, gyrating girls in Wah-wah-wee. It is like a big mental asylum…. Like there is no end to it. And all these supposed to be funny characters - are not funny anymore! They actually reflect the very sick and already decaying state of the nation and the people’s mentality. And ABS-CBN, being very commercial, is capitalizing on nationalistic feelings and logos like “kapamilya”… etc… and making people from overseas pay heaps of dollars for substandard shows - and just about the Philippines.
What I would like to see more are more of the programs about Filipino culture, food, interesting places in the Philippines, etc … and of course Sharon Cuneta Show and the Buzz!!!
Regarding the tele-novelas, lahat talaga puno ng kakornihan - like Palos (na tapos na), Kung Fu Kids (super corny copy cat talagah) and Princesa ng Banyera (typical pinoy dumb telenovela). Everything is copied or recycled and I am getting over the idea that since it is pinoy - we should watch and support these.
Well the only thing that could make me tune in for awhile among the telenovelas at the moment is LOBO. What gets me though is not about the movie but this song that is really beautiful. I really don’t know what LOBO movie is TRYING to be. May mga kakatuwang mix ng high fashion love story (kuno like House of Elle), mga soldiers na may mission, may mga X men pa, and then may white dog na mukhang German Shepherd na LOBO nga! Juice kohh, nakakaloka talaga! Oo nga the only redeeming factor is this one ….

I do not subscribe to anything. I do illegal downloads of Pinoy movies that I want to watch … Heehee!
I think you should do what Kyels does and if you get more people to do what you’re doing (start a trend!), then maybe the people who are in charge of programming will see just what kind of programming people want to watch and focus on that.
