DIVAS DOWNUNDER

There is no stopping the DRAG QUEENS conquering AUSTRALIA and the world! 

As we bid goodbye to Priscilla - which is leaving Melbourne very soon (or has it???), a new show-extravaganza has been capturing the audience in the suburbs of Melbourne. 

Gathered are an assortment of drag queens doing impersonations of celebrities like Kylie, Dolly Parton, Bette Midler, Celine Dion, Dusty Springfield, Barbra Streisand, Tina Turner, Whitney Houston, Anastacia, Madonna, Cher, Diana Ross, Gloria Estefan … etc.  I could not believe that all my favorite drag queens would be in one big big show like this.

I was luckY enough to be invited by one of the showgirls, Shireen Sequins, (the only Asian drag queen in the group) who was doing Tina Turner. to be on the opening night.  I was more than excited to see a show that promised glitters of Les Girls and Priscilla.  Numbers after numbers - like non stop of beautiful drag queens and their selected numbers … the show was indeed breathtaking!    Exceeding my expectations,  I thought this is how drag performances should be -  classy, very glittery, very dramatic.   It was more than fabulous, fabulous show!  It was over the rainbow - with the best performers, best costumes, choreography, wigs, jewelry etc.   A gastronomic feast of your favorite drag performances!  Any drag queen worthy of her wig should watch this show!    

And I wish I could be one of these girls …. someday !

The introductory number was superb!  One Night Only was the best choice - with all these sequined gowns of different colors, and the sexy choreography!

 Kylie Minogue impersonation was perfect - from the face, costume, moves!  Millie Minogue is perfect as Kylie!

 Miss Paris - as the compere extraordinaire - is just the epitome of a classic drag queen!

My favorite of all the drag queens are:

Vivien St James as Diana (my favorite number - Touch me in the Morning!

Tina Sparkles as Celine Dion

 

Paris for her wonderful costumes and classy performance as the emcee of the show!

I was thinking… how should you become a member of this cast.  Most of them are quite are really famous, a bit older and really experienced drag performers?  Can I see myself in the picture?  Ohh, well
