RHYS UHLICH: OH REALITY OF REALITY SHOWS !!!

I am a bit disappointed with the result of the Make Me a SuperModel – Australia which ended last night!

I was rooting for Shanina Shaik ever since.  And everyone knows that Shanina Shaik should win as she has all the makings of a supermodel but the phone votes made Rhys Uhlich the winner!  And Rhys himself thought it should be Shanina.  

Internet and phone voting system that determines the winner of a contest does not really deliver the best results – as this could be swayed by different factors.   My heart goes to Shanina who is really determined to go to New York for the modelling contract. She made this her ultimate goal during the contest and it showed in her consistent performance.

The good thing is :  the road does not end in this contest for the contestants.  Shanina for sure would make it as a supermodel if she works further for it !

My guess is that most of the phone voters were girls (or gays?) and they want to see more of the following photos of Rhys which are not “disappointing” at all !!!

 

Is he born with it ???

HOLIDAZED: body, mind and soul!

I think this is the best holidazed I’ve ever had for years! 

Aside from just total relaxation and rejuvenation (I specifically avoided all forms of night lifes and all those freaky stuff  where you treat your body not as a temple or botanical garden but more of recreational park …   and so instead I gorged myself with all native foods including durian, mangoes, young fresh coconuts, fresh lumpia, and banana Qs.  To tough it all, I ate rice three times a day!  I did not really mind gaining some more kilos – as I thought this is only equivalent to a one week’s diet, or not eating at all (for sure:)) 

I concentrated my energies to the following body and parts repairs and services which are all cheap and comparably good in Davao:

Teeth – all craps and holes and possible dents were filled in by a schoolmate in highschool (now he is a successful ortho with 3 kids!) , polished and whitened 

Eyes – got some new glasses and colored contact lenses (buy one take one free!)

Body – massage (hilot) and other pamperings (hair, nails, facials, etc from David Salon)

But the best I got was this – - – > LAZULI SPA of Davao’s Marco Polo Hotel

For P2,000 peysos only, you can have the following:

- Lazuli Diet Tea

- Three hours of pampering -> sauna/spa, body scrub, oriental massage

- Ground Coffee beans and chocolate (for scrub) with peppermint oil (for massage)

This is highly recommended.  The girl who did the massage was very well trained in the arts of spa and pampering.  (They were all girls – if there was a boy attendant, I would have opted for one.)   But it did not really matter since the girl was really lovely and she kept on calling me Madam, although I asked her to call me just Miss J !!!  The whole process was very relaxing – and I totally surrendered to the gentle hands of this girl – who was very professional and knew and respected the boundaries of their clients.  Awesome !!!

After the almost 4 hours of spa and relaxations, I felt soooo rejuvenated and ready to face this cruel world again   Charroots!

 

 

Miss Universe RIYO MORI SLAPPED !!! ….. THE GLITTERS, GLAM AND CHEAP GOSSIPS OF MISS UNIVERSE 2008

The Mikimoto Crown

From really elegant glamorous and precious pearled stunning Mikimoto crown to a $120k worth crown of  white diamonds and stones that looked a little bit different and almost tacky!  

It seems that the Miss Universe has lost that old image of grandeur elegance and now it is really becoming funny, cheap, nasty and even slutty! 

There is sooo much intrigues and bruhaha about the Miss Universe since most of the people involved are soooo intense and passionate about beauty pageants.   I am for one is getting really obssessed and so caught up with third and even fourth hand news of what is going on in Vietnam.   But the best gossips and news are coming from Ines Ligron – the MU Japan National Director.

The latest news is that Miss Universe Riyo Mori was slapped by one of the contestants – Miss Egypt!  Can you believe this ???   Whether true or not – this makes the contest all the more exciting!

All the delegates were filming for the opening number in their National Costume. Japan and Korea were right on the front… this is bad news maybe it means that they will not be in the finals? I hope not!

Riyo practiced her final speech. This year it will be the first time that a Miss Universe will be dancing on stage during the opening number. Sun will be on the first row, same as Riyo last year. In general they always put the girls who have the best presence and can dance best on the front. In 2003 Amelia Vega was front and Riyo Mori as well last year. Hiroko will be in the back, I am not surprised because she cannot really dance well….

The girls that impressed me today are Czech Republic, Serbia, Russia, Nicragua, Ukraine, Netherlands and Turkey.

I am now in the lobby at the delegate’s hotel, and we are all waiting for the delegates to come. We have an hour sharp to share with them tonight again.

Gossip of the day:

Miss Egypt is a real pain in the neck; she slapped Riyo backstage when by mistake she stepped on her dress. Then she was horrified when she realized she just had slapped Miss Universe! LOL She was saying –“I am sorry I did not know that it was you!!”… Riyo told her: “it is okay, but you should not do that anyway to anyone, this is not really nice”. She was mortified.

Also she shares the room with is Canada and she smokes cigarettes after cigarettes and Miss Canada asked her kindly to pls go outside when she wishes to smoke. She turned around and said: “why? This is MY room?!” Nice girl indeed! Sometimes I wonder why this kind of girl bothers to come here…. Hiroko and Sun adore their respective roommates, they were lucky with Miss Ireland and El Salvador because they are the sweetest girls.

I was seated with the directors of Angola, Antigua and Barbados, Ed of Global Beauties, Osmel Souza and Miss Dominican Republic’ mom at the rehearsals.

The delegates started today at 5 am! And they rehearsed all day

I will write later because Luciano, my good friend whom is the Director of Miss Italy just arrived and I can spot him across the hallway. I want to welcome here. Talk to you after I see the delegates.

Flying yellow inverted tulip gown, and the way she worked it – elegant, sexy and very confident.  Just amazing, and really thought of.

Simply amazing black and silver, and she really looked like she’s enjoying and loving every minute of it !!!
