FLOWER PAPARACHI: CITY STREET

6 10 2006

One thing that I really appreciate with Melbourne’s city council management is that they spend a lot of time and money in maintaining stunning streets in the city.

They change their potted flowers almost every month!  And you could tell the season by the flowers on the streets.   That’s just one of the reasons why we get taxed so dearly !!!  But at least we can see where our tax money goes :)

MEL 101: ORCHIDS AT THEIR BEST

17 08 2006

Melbourne is blessed with a climate suitable to growing different kind of flowers.

That’s why it is called the flower state of Australia.

These are some photos of cymbedium orchids from a beautiful shop in the city.  It’s the season for the orchids and I am just sooo thrilled with the colours and variety in bloom.  If there is one reason why I should stay in Melbourne, despite its despicable weather, then it would be for the flowers and the orchids!  I just love them.

Aren’t they gorgeous?

On a glorious white, this orchid is really beautiful.

(Sorry, i have to post a thumbnail, since wordpess seem to be having problems in posting lots of photos.  It just got crazy and the photos got interchanged with each other.)

I love all of them but this fiery rust blood-orange is my favorite.

Which is one is yours?

I MISS MY ORCHIDS

30 06 2006

this year … they did not produce flowers at all, not a single one. I am to blame, since I repotted them and cut them into four plants to propagate.

Hope that next year, I would have at least one spike.

I just love orchids!!!!
