TAKE A BOW

14 08 2007

My favorite blog ever - the Las Tres Estrellas - just got their first year anniversary celebration as a gay blog recently and I am so elated to have stumbled on this site of extra glamorous and funny gay guys who know how to make you die laughing!

Viva Las Tres Estrellas and the fan club!

And so in response to Lyka Bergen’s  (see her pretty profile) latest post:

First Q:  Favorite Madonna Song

The first song that comes to mind – if asked what is my favorite Madonna song - would always be – TAKE A BOW of Bedtime Stories fame.

Maybe because it so romantic, dramatic, and somehow reflective of life as a stage and we being performers of all sorts.   How we should take every moment of it as an opportunity to express our humanity in the arena of life (Chika!, what am I babbling about ???).

Anyway,  this is the first song ever, that I used to perform in drag infront of my friends (in our flat) way back my Middle Eastern years in the late 90’s.

It was so much fun back then, since I improvised on my costume!  And I was carrying my luggage like I was going home to the Philippines.

This was my song of goodbye to my first boyfriend as well.  A Turkish guy who was a cross between Kevin Costner (The Bodyguard) and Clarke Gable (Gone with the Wind).  So I was undecided whether I should be Vivien Leigh or Whitney Houston!  :)   But then the song was Madonna – so I should be Madzkie!

Well, here is my break away song!  Enjoy!

Take A Bow

written by Babyface and Madonna

Take a bow, the night is over
This masquerade is getting older
Light are low, the curtains down
There’s no one here
[There's no one here, there's no one in the crowd]
Say your lines but do you feel them
Do you mean what you say when there’s no one around [no one around]
Watching you, watching me, one lonely star
[One lonely star you don't know who you are]

Chorus:

I’ve always been in love with you [always with you]
I guess you’ve always known it’s true [you know it's true]
You took my love for granted, why oh why
The show is over, say good-bye

Say good-bye [bye bye], say good-bye

Make them laugh, it comes so easy
When you get to the part
Where you’re breaking my heart [breaking my heart]
Hide behind your smile, all the world loves a clown
[Just make 'em smile the whole world loves a clown]
Wish you well, I cannot stay
You deserve an award for the role that you played [role that you played]
No more masquerade, you’re one lonely star
[One lonely star and you don't know who you are]

(chorus, repeat)

Say good-bye [bye bye], say good-bye

All the world is a stage [world is a stage]
And everyone has their part [has their part]
But how was I to know which way the story’d go
How was I to know you’d break
[You'd break, you'd break, you'd break]
You’d break my heart

I’ve always been in love with you
[I've always been in love with you]
Guess you’ve always known
You took my love for granted, why oh why
The show is over, say good-bye

(chorus)

Say good-bye [bye bye], say good-bye
Say good-bye

BLOG ME LIKE A HURRICANE !!!

(A photo of current street posters)

I was listening to the Joy FM Radio last weekend and there was a queer voice interview with the party goers in Q&A – a gay and lesbian pub in Melbourne.

The question was :  How gay are you ?

Some said they are 70%, 80%, 99.9%.  And everyone came up with their bloody percentages !

I thought would you really know how much percentage of being gay, lesbian or straight is there in your system/body/mind/life/orientation?

When you are sure you are gay, would you really know if you could bent it out to the other camp - straight bear once in a while?

Well I thought about the question and my answer to this question would be:

I’m 120 % gay and 20% lesbian.  :)

What do you think ???

How about you ???

IN SEARCH OF A FATHER FIGURE

4 09 2006

September 2 is Father’s Day in Australia.  And just with the celebration, I called and greeted some friends who are fathers.  Qualifications = fathered a child (not cats or dogs! :) ). But I thought what is really a father in this time and age?

In this time of modern family arrangements (divorce here and everywhere, open relationships, partnerships, etc) sometimes I wonder what picture is brought to my mind whenever I think of a father - a general figure to represent that role model which is somehow vanishing.

Not that my own father does not remind me of one – for he is always my own unique father with whom good memories are preserved, counsel and guidance would be always be reckoned with, but he is greatly flawed as a father.

Thinking of a father figure – is like considering that almost perfect “image” – who stands for the ideal and the standards.  Well, honestly I could not think of one – dead or alive.  A father is a father no matter how flawed.  So in times like these, TV’s Desperate Housewives’ ”flawless” fathers – would be an ideal array to choose from:

So who would you like to be your father or a father to your sons and daughters?

200px-rexvandecamp.jpg

Rex Van de Kaamp (husband of Bree)

He is quite a good provider, loving husband and good sense of humour!  Forget about his philandering and affair !

250px-carlossolis.jpg

Carlos Solis (husband of Gabrielle)

Do you like?  A very strong father figure – if Gabby did not slip and lose their baby!

250px-karlmayer_dh.jpg

Karly Mayer (husband of Susan)

As a husband, he has a lot to learn.  But as a father – I think he is quite sensible!

250px-tomscavo.jpg

Tom Scavo (husband of Lynette)

I could see a lot of fathers with the likes of Tom Scavo!  Very typical!

250px-james_denton_1.jpg

And ohhhhh…. of course Mike Delfino – that hunky plumber who everyone wants to be the father of their sons and daughters… even if he is so mysterious! Did I hear some catfights over there, aside from Edi and Susan?

 —————————-

But who would not want Jessie Metcalf to be, not your father (could not be since he is still so young) then just your loving Papa of your dreams:)  No wonder Gabrielle committed adultery over and ove again!  I just wonder if I would given the chance :)

Thanks to Desperate Housewife’s casting director. We all got our fantasy right once in a while! Indeed!

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY !

OH SUMMER …

Where art thou?

I miss the heat of the sun on my skin.

The shirtless long walks on the beach.

The sweet balmy smell of summer

YES MATE, YOUR NOKIA BATTERY IS FAKE!

23 02 2006

For nearly two months now I have been finding my new Nokia 6270 low on battery every other day – and I have not even used the radio or camera or anything that would probably eat up a lot of power.

Could you imagine going out one day and expecting an important call and all of a sudden your mobile died on you even as you just charged it the other day. Honestly, i am bit frustrated with the mobile – despite all its features which I am not using anyway. I was happy with the previous one (Nokia 6600) although it was a bit bulky and the photos are lower in resolution.

Now, I am seriously thinking and worried that afterall the hassles in buying this mobile in Greenbelt, Manila, that I got a dud. Well, we spend almost two days finding out what is the best model and for the money spent for this it should be the best among the choices. Well, honestly, I only want a radio with the mobile so I only have to charge one equipment (instead of charging an Ipod or an mp3 player). FM radio is fine with me. And this model has a good radio feature in it.

So I went to Telstra and Optus mobile shops to find out what is happening. Only to confirm my suspicion that we do not have this model yet in Australia -( as in we are always late here in terms of mobile tech). Could not help me with anything except to change my charger which has the Aussie electrical plug in it – but basically it is the same as what I have.

Now I am being obssessed charging and charging – and compared with 6600, this one does not beep when it is fully charged – really erriee, as I am used to being beeped so I stop charging it. Have I overcharged my battery?

My next stop was to check the website of Nokia. After reading again all the features ( as I did not bother reading the manual), once could actually check whether the battery is an authentic Nokia battery. Yes, the battery has that golden hologram with logo and hands shaking with four black dots – and then with scratchable ink to reveal 20 digit codes. Came up my response from the online checking – my battery is valid.

So what is wrong with my mobile? Who knows! I would not even bother knowing now as long I could charge it – to solve the problem of persistent low bat – I bought two chargers- one at work and one at home. Well I just have to wait until this year ends and I am going back again to upgrade to a new better model.

So I could say bye to Model 6270, and until the battery stays alive for six or even five days, I definitely not recommending it to friends, despite its glorious features as you can see !

Nokia always recommends the use of original Nokia batteries with Nokia phones to ensure safety, performance, and warranty coverage. To make it easier to identify original Nokia batteries, as of late 2004 we’ve started adding a coded hologram to them. Please note that during the transition phase, many original Nokia batteries available on the market will not have this hologram. batteries with a Hologram Label
Does your Nokia Battery feature a hologram? Now you can authenticate the hologram and code:
